Every Friday, I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. And I literally write it in 5 minutes. The prompt this week is … order.

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I were exhausted. We’ve been so busy with being new adoptive parents, new jobs, new side-hustles, and tons of family events.

While everything around us seemed in order, WE did not seem in order. We were so disconnected and had no together time to just breathe a bit. We looked at each other and thought to ourselves that we needed…

Every Friday, I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. And I literally write it in 5 minutes. The prompt this week is … strong.

New job. New part of town. New colleagues.

I am frightened and dismayed, but I am also strong and courageous because he is with me.

He is MY God. He is with me in the old and with me in the new.

Bring it, God. :)

“Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Today, I had a meeting with my new boss, and she shared with me the history of my classroom. Minus the incredible view, it was the “school home” of a beloved teacher who passed away a couple of years ago.

The classroom is dedicated to her. There is a sign outside the door and a school proclamation. She also has her own buddy bench outside the classroom that I used with a student today.

I honestly do not know what to say about this. The only thing I can think about is the passing of the torch from Moses to…

This summer, I turned 40!!

Since 40 for me is the beginning of many new things — a new job, a new gig in writing, a possible new kid, I decided that I was going to take this day seriously.

I sat and thought for days about what I would do on my 40th birthday.

Did I want to see friends that day? Nope.

Did I want to go to dinner? Nope.

Did I want to hike a “mountain”? Yes.

So my husband and I went up this mountain in Maryland, and we took the summit trail that was filled with rocks.

We got this view.

Small thing to do for a 40th, but the best experience for me.

Happy Summer to you all!! :)

Every Friday, I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. And I literally write it in 5 minutes. The prompt this week is … deserve.

My dad was 39 when I was born. I was 39 when he died.

Our relationship was a roller coaster filled with more downs than ups.

I never knew the love of a father. I always felt that I was given what I deserved. I was a bad daughter.

Our foundation was based on earthly things how I looked, how I dressed—my success.

I felt that true love…

In the book, James the straightforward apostle writes explaining his letter what practical Christianity looks like. The main purposes for James’ letter include 1). To encourage Christians who were facing persecution to persevere. 2). To motivate them to hold on to the law of God. 3). To explain that faith without obedience to God is useless. 4). To instruct them in Christian living, even under duress and persecution.

Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. And I literally write it in 5 minutes. The prompt this week is … disagree.

This picture above is my first classroom teaching experience in Japan. In all of my life, I never thought this would ever happen to me. Why? I constantly ran from teaching.

I remember growing up I had this heart to be a teacher. I was the one who loved to gather her dolls and teach them a lesson. I loved being around children and enjoyed reading to them…

Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. And I literally write it in 5 minutes. The prompt this week is … slow.

My son has lived with us for 2 years.

It’s funny in adoption the paperwork side is so SLOW, but once he came home with his, time moved quickly.

Over those 2 years he’s grown he’s crushed milestones and is starting to become this little being that God created for his glory.

It is amazing to see that he was once this child who was so new and…

Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. And I literally write it in 5 minutes. The prompt this week is … recover.

God told us that we will experience trials, but that we would overcome these trials through the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. (Revelation 12:11). There are many passages and stories that express the faithfulness of God. The book of Hebrews, chapter 11 expresses the various testimonies of God’s faithfulness. The testimonies of Moses, Jacob, Joseph, Abraham and others. There is the evidence of…

Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. And I literally write it in 5 minutes. The prompt this week is … excuse.

What is our excuse in our love of the Lord? Is it our pride? Or is it our Faith? These questions lead me to the story of Eli and His Sons.

Eli and his sons had all the excuses to sin. And in the excuses came from their pride. They knew the God’s law. They were called to uphold God’s law as priest. …
