Five Minute Friday — Ignore

“Just ignore it,” they said.

Voices like, “you are not a good enough mother.” “You are not a smart enough teacher.” “You are ugly?”

“Just ignore those voices.”

I find these comments easier said than done and find myself wanting to search for more help than just ignoring it.

Thankfully I have God’s voice in my heart and scripture. The words are there for me to read.

11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. — Ecclesiastes 3:11

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you. (Sol. 4:7)

Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her! (Lu. 1:45)

God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. (Ps. 46:5)

Dear Reader,

Many more parts of the bible speak of God’s love for us. He made us in his perfection. He speaks for us. He will not fail us. He is always with us. Ignoring those voices is not enough for the believer. The believer is called to pray, meditate, read God’s word, and apply it in their heart. Pray and ask for God’s grace to walk out his word. I pray that you will walk into the fullness of Jesus Christ.

Love,

Deirdre
