Five Minute Friday — Many

(Teaching — Many Are Called. Few are Chosen.)

“For many are called, but few are chosen.” Matthew 22:14

After a busy week at school with Valentine’s party, excited and spirited kids, and parent/teacher conferences, I was exhausted from teaching. Among the many who are feeling the same way, as teaching has become a tough profession.

I saw the word “many” and thought to myself, after seeing the turnover rate of teachers since the pandemic began, of the scripture verse from Matthew 22:14. “Many are called, but few are chosen.”

I’m concluding that I’m accepting that teaching is becoming a profession with an active revolving door. I don’t know how that will look in the future, but I pray to stay among the ones who will, with God’s grace, guide the next generation into the future.

Never be afraid to stand out among the “many.”

There are times when life gets hard, and you seem like you are the only one fighting the good fight. But remember that while many are called, you are among the chosen to shine a light for Jesus in the world.

Keep fighting the good fight. Stand out among the many.
