Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. And I literally write it in 5 minutes. The prompt this week is … Possibility.

Possible Words of Change

In the beginning, GOD with his words created the cosmos. I’m always amazed at how a creative God created everything out of nothing. This at an early age taught me the possibility of anything. Words bring possibility. Words can speak life, love and grace. They can tear down strongholds and build up walls. Power of possibility in words, intimidates others. Either they are fearful to speak up to break change that they are accustomed with or they will not give up power. I’ve come to a crossroads of my life, when I have to choose. Seeing my students and looking at my incredible and beautiful boy, I choose them. They are my muse. I want to do my small part to make sure the world is ready and willing to accept them with everything they are and will be.

Seeing the possibility of the diversity that God has created, I choose informing and being a bridge. These days I use my words to advocate and speak up to impact people. I want to share fun information to help parents bond with their children and what will help teachers bring life in the classroom. I use them to educate others about adoption and to share resources for what the church can do for orphans. I want to challenge racial disparities in the church. I want to speak hope, make people laugh, share my pains and frustrations and Overall, I want to use words the way that I learned God used them in creation. To create goodness and what is necessary on earth. I want my words to be used more prayerful, mindful and thoughtful. All of these things highlight the God of possibility.

Prayer

Psalm 19:14, KJV: “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.”
