Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. And I literally write it in 5 minutes. The prompt this week is … recover.

God told us that we will experience trials, but that we would overcome these trials through the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. (Revelation 12:11). There are many passages and stories that express the faithfulness of God. The book of Hebrews, chapter 11 expresses the various testimonies of God’s faithfulness. The testimonies of Moses, Jacob, Joseph, Abraham and others. There is the evidence of being a trial and then God helping them overcome the trial. While they were the stories of God’s faithfulness then, they are still the stories of God’s faithfulness now. But there is always place for to recover after walking through the trial and overcoming a trial.

I always find that through this place of recovery, I’m reflecting and resting more in what God is sharing with me. I use the time to have God speak to me and to point me in the direction that I need to go. Sometimes the direction is just that I just need to hold God’s hand and have faith.

Just like the testimonies of Moses, Jacob, Joseph, Abraham and others, my testimony is important to God. Not just the time of the trial and overcoming, but the period to recover as well. I am grateful.
