Five Minute Friday-Rest in his Care

One day my co-lead teacher and I were having a conversation about Quiet Time for the students. While she does not believe that Quiet Time is worth it, I do. I think that introducing the idea of quieting your mind in some shape or form saves you a whole lot of time and money in the future.

God calls us to rest. He cares about us and gifted us with rest to replenish the body.

Rest for the body.

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Exodus 20:8–11

Rest in Him.

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will give rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.

Matthew 11:28–30
