Five Minute Friday — She

Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. And I literally write it in 5 minutes. The prompt this week is … she.

Carried into the room by his social worker, he was still and quiet. She thought to herself, “he is incredibly handsome”. There he is, her new son. Brown skin and deep and beautiful eyes matched his new daddy. She was captivated. He was very quiet, but vocal with gestures. He walked her to a picture on the wall. “You want to show me around the room?” They stopped at a picture. “Boy!” she said. Her gaze went from his brown eyes to his finger to see the boy in the picture again. She sighed and shed a tear. Why? Because 13 years later, she is finally a mother.
