Five Minute Friday — Slow

Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. And I literally write it in 5 minutes. The prompt this week is … slow.

My son has lived with us for 2 years.

It’s funny in adoption the paperwork side is so SLOW, but once he came home with his, time moved quickly.

Over those 2 years he’s grown he’s crushed milestones and is starting to become this little being that God created for his glory.

It is amazing to see that he was once this child who was so new and fresh to this country and now he is 5 and growing at his own pace with incredible support.

I’m grateful to God that he’s growing and evolving, but secretly wish that time could slow down for me. Selfishly.

In about a week, I will be preparing him for the ultimate challenge of his life; Kindergarten.

I feel joy, sadness, still and peace.

He is God’s and I know that means that he is going to be used for good.

And for this, I am grateful.
